Direct Accountability Program – Gender Specific Groups

Anger management

The program for adult women helps them to identify the role of anger and its use/misuse. Clients learn to recognize different “styles” of anger and concrete strategies to effectively manage their own anger. Group members also learn more about their own personal and community resources.

Alcohol and drug awareness

The Elizabeth Fry Society of Peel Halton in partnership with the Ministry of the Attorney General provides alcohol and drug misuse/addiction and anger management programming for low-risk, first-time offenders, to address the underlying issues that contributed to their offending behaviour.

Stop shop-theft program

The Elizabeth Fry Society of Peel Halton in partnership with the Ministry of the Attorney General provides a Stop Shop Theft Program low-risk, first-time offenders, to address the underlying issues that contributed to their offending behaviour. The Stop Shop Theft program is a 3 hour facilitation program offered to individuals who have been charged with retail theft.

Who is eligible?

Individuals 18 years of age and older who have been charged with minor criminal offences are eligible for this Program. The Program will accept referrals that have been screened and approved by the Direct Accountability Community Justice Worker only.
